Majora Carter Group/Bronx, NYThe Majora Carter Group, a green-economic development consulting firm, is seeking an Assistant to the President and Office Manager. This individual will be a lynchpin of the infrastructure of MCG, responsible for both providing the President with administrative support and overseeing the daily operations of the office. He/she will report directly to the President, with management responsibility on day one for two other administrative resources. This is a growth position – there will be potential for this individual to take on increased management and operations opportunity as the business evolves.

Responsibilities include:

Administrative Support to the President
- Oversee and monitor extensive travel schedule of the President (e.g., develop thorough itineraries, ensure that all reservations/arrangements are made, develop and maintain contingency plans)
- Maintain ownership of President’s calendar, articulating appropriate trade-offs and balancing competing commitments in relation to the demands of the business
- Serve as liaison for relevant professional relationships – serve as the “voice of†the organization, as it relates to President’s commitments and calendar
- Take dictation and draft business correspondence, including memos, letters and email
- Maintain an organized tracking system of tasks and projects for President
- Handle confidential and non-routine information with sensitivity

Office Management
- Ensure the smooth and sustainable day-to-day operations of South Bronx office (e.g., ensure that printers and faxes in good order, oversee recycling, practice best practices in conservation)
- Maintain common standards of professionalism and mutual respect (for local community, as well as stakeholders/clients) among all employees
- Coordinate office support services: select vendors, supervise purchases, direct maintenance staff
- Oversee payroll, accounts payable/accounts receivable, billing

Team Management
- Manage other full- and part-time administrative resources with sensitivity, compassion and respect
- Know and understand responsibilities of other administrative resources (e.g., reception, Salesforce management), and be able to assist and train others for these duties
- Develop oversight of workflow and task allocations, and adapt as necessary

Candidate Requirements:
The Assistant to President/Office Manager for Majora Carter Group must be an empathetic, resourceful, and highly responsible individual with a high degree of professionalism. The ideal candidate would have experience in a support role within a fast-paced environment. Experience in startups would be advantageous, but is not required for the role.
